I love my new phone case! This verse has a very special meaning for me. A few years ago, I began to have some serious issues with my eyes. After years of medications, drops, injections, procedures, surgeries, an implant, and many, many tests and scans, I was told that I would probably never know the root cause of my issues, there is no prognosis, and I should consider starting low vision therapy to prepare for the day my vision is gone completely. Every eye doctor I have, from my optometrist to my team of specialists at Vanderbilt says they don’t know how I can see. But God! Understandably, I was very upset and depressed. Finally, I cried to God just as Bartimaeus did. ‘Lord, I want to see!’ God has answered my prayer. I still have issues and limitations, but I can see well enough to function reasonably well. Each morning when I open my eyes and look around, I know I’m experiencing a MIRACLE and I’m so grateful. I’m writing this not to brag about receiving a miracle, or to ask for sympathy, but in hopes that my story can give someone else hope and encouragement. If God can grant a miracle to someone as insignificant as I am, then He can grant you one too. Don’t give up! Cry out to God and have faith that He WILL answer. I don’t know why I have my issues. Maybe it’s just so I can give someone else hope. I don’t know if my miracle is temporary or permanent. But I choose to live each day thanking God and having Faith in His plan, knowing that even if I can’t see, He will guide my steps. For we walk by Faith, not by Sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
